"Continuing education felt frustrating"
I expected more from ACAMS when it came to continuing education. A lot of the options felt limited or like they were covering the same things over and over, and trying to find courses that were actually useful became annoying fast. I was already feeling mentally drained, so having to dig around for content that felt worth my time just made the whole experience more frustrating. For what it costs, it didn’t really feel worth it to me.

"Didn’t really help"
I thought this might give my job search a little boost, but no, well, actually I tried to stay hopeful for a bit, but in the end I didn’t notice any improvement at all.

"The chapters didn’t really lead to connections"
I was hoping the chapters would make it easier to meet people, but the networking felt weak. I went in expecting at least a few useful conversations, and it just never really clicked. Weirdly, the thing I remember most is someone’s bright orange water bottle sitting in the middle of the table the whole time. Overall, it didn’t feel worth the effort for meeting anyone.

I tried to give this webinar a chance, but the audio kept cutting in and out the whole time. It was frustrating because I couldn’t really follow what was being said. I expected it to be more polished, kind of like other webinars I’ve attended that... well, this one just wasn’t worth it for me.

"confusing eligibility process"
the eligibility part of the application was confusing for me. i kept going back and forth trying to figure out what counted and what didn’t, and some of the info felt too vague to be really helpful.
after spending a bunch of time on it, i still felt stuck. i reached out to support, but the replies didn’t really clear things up and mostly just sent me back to the same pages i had already read.
not the best first step. when eligibility is this unclear, it makes the whole process feel stressful before you even really get started

"Instructor didn’t feel very well-prepared"
I went into this expecting a bit more from ACAMS, but the class didn’t land for me. The instructor mostly seemed to be reading off the slides, and when people asked questions, the answers were often vague or didn’t really clear things up. The actual material might be useful, but the way it was taught made it hard to feel confident in the expertise behind it. If you’re considering it, I’d suggest checking who the instructor is beforehand or asking others about their experience with that specific session. For me, it didn’t feel worth the cost.

I used acams.org to get ready for my exam, it helped more than I expected. The practice questions and study guide felt close to the real test style, which was a big plus. A few sections were a little long and dry, so I definitely had to go back and reread some topics, but it was worth it. I passed on my first try, so I’m happy with how it turned out. 4 stars from me

"Fair exam, but tougher than I thought"
i mean, the ACAMS exam was fair overall, but it was definitely harder than I expected. A few questions were tricky and worded in a weird way, which made me second-guess myself. The study materials helped, but they didn’t cover everything as clearly as I hoped.

"Canceling was way more of a hassle than I expected"
I tried to cancel and get a refund sometime around last month, or maybe late the month before, I don’t remember the exact date. Either way, it was way harder than it should’ve been. Support kept sending these really short replies, and I never got the feeling that anyone actually took the time to look into my situation. For what it costs, the refund policy and the whole cancellation process were frustrating.

"Disappointed with the ACAMS Study Materials"
I expected more from the ACAMS study materials. A lot of it felt dry and wasn’t explained as clearly as I hoped, so I didn’t really feel like it helped me get ready for the exam. For the price, I was definitely disappointed. Did anyone else have the same experience with it?

"Be careful — the recertification info is really unclear"
Just a heads up for anyone going through recertification: the process is way more confusing than it should be. I had to dig around the site just to find basic details, and even then I still wasn’t totally sure what documents or credits were actually required. One page seemed to say one thing, then another page made it sound different. I reached out to support, but that didn’t clear things up much either. For what they charge, the instructions should be much easier to follow.

"Certificate took way longer than expected"
I passed my exam and then ended up waiting what felt like forever for the certificate to come through. Support did reply, but it was slow and the answers weren’t always that clear, you know? I needed it for work, so it got really frustrating having to keep checking and following up. I feel like this shouldn’t take that much chasing after you’ve already passed, right?

It was a bit expensive, not gonna lie, but the certification did help strengthen my compliance resume and gave me more to talk about in job interviews. I usually think companies should be careful not to overcharge for career stuff people genuinely need, but in this case I at least felt like I got real value out of it.

"Good lessons, but way too much waiting around"
The lessons themselves are actually useful, but the platform can really test your patience. It freezes sometimes, the videos load slowly, and I kept having to refresh just to keep going. For the price, I didn’t expect to be forced to sit there waiting so often. Annoying overall.

I emailed them twice and somehow still haven’t heard anything back after a full week. Like, I get that places get busy, but come on, at least send a quick reply or something. It’s frustrating being left hanging with no update at all

"Worth it, even if the costs add up"
acams was affordable enough for me, but I wouldn’t really call it cheap because once you factor in the course and the renewal fees it does start to add up, though overall I still felt like it was worth it for what I got out of it

"It worked out, but the proctoring was a little stressful"
In the end, everything went okay and I was able to finish my ACAMS exam online. That said, the whole proctoring process was a bit more stressful than I expected. Check-in took longer than I thought it would, and the camera rules felt strict at times. The proctor wasn’t rude or anything, just a little slow to respond when I needed help. Overall, it got the job done, but I do think the process could be smoother.

"Felt a bit too basic for me"
I went into the training hoping I’d pick up something useful, but it felt kind of outdated and a little too basic. I kept thinking, “Okay, maybe the next section will go deeper,” but it never really did. The quizzes were there, but they didn’t really help me learn or remember much. Overall, I was hoping for more and ended up feeling a bit disappointed.
